An Extraordinary Year for the 2017 CGA 811 Excavation Safety Conference

An Extraordinary Year for the 2017 CGA 811 Excavation Safety Conference

Yet another successful CGA 811 Excavation Safety Conference is in the books. This year’s event was at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, FL from March 14-16. It was extra special for two reasons:

Wednesday’s annual breakfast meeting celebrated 811’s 10-year anniversary! In addition to the 2017 CGA Awards, our hosts showed the 811 10th Anniversary Video Challenge winners’ videos. They were a ton to fun to watch, and all involved should be very proud of their great work. You can read about the winners of the video challenge and the other award recipients here.

The big celebration for 811 was Wednesday evening, and our hosts pulled out all the stops. The food selection was diverse and delectable. The entertainment was unique and fun (it included a sword-swallower and the 811 Rodeo Clown.) Despite the unseasonably cold temps, the guests played games, danced, socialized, and had an outstandingly good time.

This year’s CGA included an outdoor demo fair, and KorTerra debuted our innovative new technology: zSite! We had a lot of fun demonstrating how to pilot the drone through our app, and showing off the wondrous capabilities zSite gives locate documentation.

In the spirit of zSite, our grand prize giveaway was a Phantom 3 Drone. Congratulations to all the CGA drawing winners!  A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who stopped by our booth. We appreciate all the attendees, speakers, hosts, and exhibitors for continuing to make this such an amazing event. See you next year!
