Principal Software Engineer

The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership to the front-end developers by mentoring and coaching, designing and architecting complex systems, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices through rigorous code reviews. Principal Software Engineers collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, drive project planning and execution, and contribute to technical strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Additionally, Principal Software Engineers are responsible for ensuring software compliance, security, and fostering a culture of learning and innovation within their teams. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of software development processes and methodologies.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to other team members
  • Lead the technical direction of our cross platform mobile and desktop app
  • Design and develop high quality software and systems that are secure, multi-tenanted, highly scalable, and rock solid
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new products, processes, standards and operational plans that will have an impact on the achievement of functional results.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to your peers in an open and positive manner
  • Lead technology initiative projects of moderate up to the highest complexity which include new development, purchased solutions, and other automation efforts.
  • Collaborate with a team of software developers, Product Owners, and Managers during innovation, design, and development exercises
  • Influence decisions which contribute to the success of the KorTerra products and the overall organization
  • Help advance our software to the next level of quality by designing, implementing, and creating products that work in a cloud-based, multi-tenant, secure environment
  • May assist with troubleshooting outside of normal hours

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years developing software with experience in all parts of the software development lifecycle
  • 5+ years experience with NodeJS, JavaScript, and React
  • 3+ years developing software for mobile applications (iOS, Android)
  • Experience with developing end to end API’s with .Net or equivalent Object-Oriented Programming language
  • Passion for DevOps methodology and building a culture of repeatability, scalability, and feedback
  • Strong affinity for design patterns and testing principles
  • Developing with source control managements tools such as Git and Bitbucket
  • Developing in a team environment using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Design (BDD)
  • Writing professional, documented, and tested code
  • Strong analytical and collaborative mindset
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment
  • Experience in a mentoring or leadership-type role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Competency in Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Enterprise Search, AI technologies is a big plus
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience with offline first design
  • Experience with any or all of the following technologies: Azure, Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, CosmosDB, Kubernetes, Docker, .NET Core, Linux, single SPA, Capacitor

Customer Support Manager

KorTerra is seeking a dynamic and experienced Customer Support Manager to join our growing team. As the Customer Support Manager, your team will serve as the primary point of contact for our customers post-implementation, managing their experience with KorTerra. You will lead and develop a team of Level 1 and Level 2 support technicians, fostering their growth and ensuring they deliver exceptional service to our customers. 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to the Customer Support team. 
  • Manage Level 1 and Level 2 support technicians, conduct 1:1 meetings, create training plans, and provide ongoing feedback and support to enhance their skills and performance. 
  • Identify and develop process improvements and support objectives to increase efficiency and productivity within the support center. 
  • Drive initiatives to enhance customer support by managing KorTerra's product knowledge base, refining approaches to customer service mechanisms, and exploring and adopting new technologies to optimize service delivery. 
  • Monitor and present weekly/biweekly reporting on department KPIs. 
  • Utilize existing ticket tracking and phone system software to analyze reports and identify areas of improvement. 
  • Develop strategies to enhance customer service quality and satisfaction based on analysis of KPI reports. 
  • Promote organizational and departmental goals by providing continuous customer-centric service and support. 
  • Coordinate with internal teams and resources to troubleshoot issues and remove obstacles, enhancing the overall customer experience. 
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings and monthly department review meetings. 
  • Actively contribute insights and updates on team performance and customer satisfaction. 

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of customer service or account management experience within a SaaS environment. 
  • 2+ years of management experience, particularly in leading a call center or support center team. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with executive-level leadership, customers, and team members. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. 
  • Advanced time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and drive positive outcomes in a dynamic setting. 
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction, including a deep understanding and appreciation for the customer experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, grow, and cultivate teams under your direction. 
  • Analytical, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills required. ​​​​​​ 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. 
  • Experience utilizing reporting software for developing KPIs through metrics and analytics. 
  • Familiarity with Zendesk and SQL.

Product Owner - Business/Data Analytics

As a Product Owner for the business/data analytics team at KorTerra, you will define and execute the product strategy for our embedded reporting solution as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, prioritize features, and enhance our analytics capabilities to meet customer needs.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and execute product strategy for embedded reporting solutions to align with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Engage with customers to understand pain points, challenges, and requirements related to analytics and reporting, incorporating feedback into the product strategy.
  • Outline desired outcomes and success criteria, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and business goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features based on market trends, customer feedback, and business value.
  • Work closely with customers to translate desired outcomes into actionable user stories.
  • Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria to communicate requirements effectively to development teams.
  • Utilize JIRA and Confluence to create and manage user stories, track progress, and facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams.
  • Create detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) outlining development scope, deliverables, timelines, and resources required for custom development requests.
  • Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and successful delivery of analytics solutions.
  • Conduct regular product demos to gather feedback from stakeholders and customers and iterate on the product based on insights and user input.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, advocating for their needs related to data analytics, and ensuring product value and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous optimization.
  • Coordinate with development and cloud ops teams to plan and execute product releases, ensuring timely delivery of reporting features.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or Software Engineer in the SaaS software industry.
  • Strong understanding of reporting tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, etc.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Proficiency in writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Proven leadership skills to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related field.
  • Moderate proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and Snowflake
