SMS and Voice Notification Terms
Reliable and powerful technology platforms for the energy and utilities industries.
KorTerra SMS and Voice Notification Terms
These SMS and Voice Notification Terms (“Terms”) describe the KorTerra Emergency Notifications service operated by KorTerra, Inc. (“KorTerra,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). They apply to any individual who enrolls a mobile phone number to receive text messages or automated phone calls through the program.
1. Program Description
KorTerra Emergency Notifications alerts designated responders when an emergency ticket is received in their organization’s KorTerra account, so that the right person is engaged promptly, including outside of normal business hours. KorTerra, Inc. is the sender of all messages in this program. The program is delivered through GoAlert, an open-source on-call notification application that KorTerra operates.
Messages sent through this program include:
-
Emergency ticket notifications
-
Escalation notices when a notification has not been acknowledged
-
One-time verification codes used to confirm a mobile number
-
Test messages used to confirm that notification delivery is working
Notifications may be delivered by SMS text message, automated phone call, or both, depending on how notifications are configured. KorTerra does not use this program to send marketing or promotional messages.
2. Enrollment and Consent
Messages are sent only to individuals authorized by a KorTerra customer to receive emergency notifications. A mobile number is enrolled only after the individual provides the number and confirms it with the verification code sent to that number. Individuals may enroll only a mobile number that they own or are authorized to use.
Other notification channels are available in KorTerra’s platform, and enrollment in this program is not required to use KorTerra’s services.
3. Message Frequency
Messages are recurring, and message frequency varies. The number of messages you receive depends on emergency ticket activity and on how notification and escalation rules are configured.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Any charges from your mobile carrier are your responsibility.
5. How to Opt Out
Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving text messages. You will receive a single confirmation message, after which no further text messages will be sent to that number.
To stop automated phone calls, or to remove your mobile number from the program entirely, contact your organization’s KorTerra administrator or KorTerra Support using the details below.
Opting out stops notification delivery to that number. If it is your only configured notification channel, you will no longer receive emergency notifications through this program.
6. How to Get Help
Reply HELP to any text message for help, or contact KorTerra Support at support@korterra.com or 952-368-1911.
7. Message Delivery
Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
Message delivery depends on carrier networks and other conditions outside KorTerra’s control, and KorTerra does not guarantee that any message will be delivered or delivered on time. Notifications sent through this program supplement, and do not replace, your organization’s own emergency response and notification procedures.
8. Privacy
Information collected in connection with this program is handled as described in the KorTerra Privacy Policy, available at https://korterra.com/privacy-policy.
9. Relationship to Other Agreements
These Terms govern only the KorTerra Emergency Notifications messaging program. They do not modify any agreement between KorTerra and your organization, which continues to govern your organization’s use of KorTerra’s services.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
